Organized by the IACS and open to the public, ComputeFest is TWO workshops: BEDROCK DATA SCIENCE is a 9 day program in fundamentals and KORALI is a 3 day advanced workshop. Both are led by IACS researchers, staff, and alumni.
BEDROCK DATA SCIENCE: Fundamentals for courses in Machine Learning, Data Science, and AI
The objective of the 2022 ComputeFest: BEDROCK DATA SCIENCE is to provide you with the fundamental skills in math, statistics, and programming that you will need in order to undertake a course in machine learning, data science, or AI.
You will begin with the basics of Python, statistics, linear algebra, and calculus, and then apply those basics to topics like Numpy, Pandas, probability and statistics, derivatives, and optimization.
At the end of the course, you will have the tools to tackle a rigorous course in machine learning, data science, or AI, along with the confidence and hands-on training you’ll need to take your learning to the next level.
Data Science for Advanced Learners: KORALI
The KORALI Workshop is currently accepting waitlist applications.
Korali is a high-performance framework for Bayesian Uncertainty Quantification (UQ), optimization, and reinforcement learning. Korali's multi-language interface allows the execution of any type of computational model, either sequential or distributed (MPI) using the C++ or Python programming languages. Korali provides a simple interface that allows users to easily describe statistical / deep learning problems and choose the algorithms to solve them.
