In this seminar, Francesca Lazzeri will present a portfolio of powerful tools, methodologies and resources for all levels of data science, that will assist your organization (from business understanding, data generation and acquisition, modeling, to model deployment and management) to become more data-driven. Whether you are new to machine learning, a pro data scientist or a developer, in this seminar you will learn how to think more organically about end-to-end data architectures and accelerate your data science journey.
Bio: Francesca Lazzeri is an AI & Machine Learning Scientist. She is passionate about innovations in big data technologies and the applications of machine learning-based solutions to real-world problems. Her work on these issues covers a wide range of industries including energy, oil and gas, retail, aerospace, healthcare, and professional services.
Before joining Microsoft, she was Research Fellow in Business Economics at Harvard Business School, where she performed statistical and econometric analysis within the Technology and Operations Management Unit. At Harvard Business School, she worked on multiple patent data-driven projects to investigate and measure the impact of external knowledge networks on companies’ competitiveness and innovation.
Francesca is a mentor for PhD and Postdoc students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and enjoys speaking at academic and industry conferences to share her knowledge and passion for AI, machine learning, and coding.
The HDSI Data Science in Industry seminar series provides the opportunity for Harvard students, faculty and postdocs to hear directly from industry data scientists about the role data science plays in their organization, the methods and techniques being used, and their own career trajectory. Speakers are invited from companies spanning a broad range of sectors, including finance, tech, sports, pharma and media. Each talk typically lasts around 45 minutes, followed by 45 minutes for Q&A with the speaker.
