Congratulations to Harvard's 2019 Public Service Data Science Graduate Fellowship winners, Rachel Moon (HSEAS) and Pradeep Mangalath (HMS).

Rachel is working with IACS lecturer, David Sondak, and Austin Pets Alive! (APA!) on a web app that allows potential adopters to get personalized recommendations for dogs, with the long-term goal of reducing euthanasia rates and length of stay for dogs in the shelter. #TinderForDogs

Pradeep is working with the Young Survival Coalition, Breastcancer.org, and Breast Cancer Trials on building an analytical foundation to enable him to study the complexities of cancer, with the goal of contributing to improvements in therapeutics, clinical management, and quality of life.

Created with assistance from IACS, The HDSI Public Service Data Science Graduate Fellowship is offered to master’s students in data science programs throughout Harvard who want to explore career paths at not-for-profit and public sector organizations through internships.
